I’ve been betting poker now for about 5 years, I’ve bet cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various styles of Brag and basic random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so eloquently called, card on head game. I used to often win, whatever casino game we were playing and even though I liked to call it skill, it was very hard to justify thinking about the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was over joyed to accept I was having a long-term run of luck.

Then came Poker, or far more importantly Hold em Poker, made famous by a bunch of Texas card gamblers in the 1960’s and since grown into one of the biggest card phenomena ever witnessed. Poker is absolutely the new black, it really is super awesome with a lot of of the world’s top super stars racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick flick through the TV channels nowadays and you are able to not escape from poker, and needless to say there’s the fabled WSOP, the Holy Grail and Mecca all rolled into one for each and every single gambler.

So with all of this fresh found popularity, with so many Television shows dedicated to poker, and magazine and book shelves loaded up with high quality material written by the leading minds on poker, when are persons going to learn that this casino game is all about position!?

Perhaps I should not get so worked up about this, after all the much more folks who wrestle with the delicate tactics and methods required for succeeding regularly at Holdem, the much better it can be for everyone else, appropriate? I mean, if they can not be bothered to read all of the obtainable information about why placement is so essential, why need to we bother? We must just be happy there’s another fish at the table!

It’s true, we really should not reward inactivity with advice and help. Even so, I liken this to a helpful game of football. Naturally the levels aren’t so high, except when you see a player having difficulties, you guide them, offer them some advice, ultimately showing them a way to like, really like and be thankful for the game as much as you. I am askin all home players to do a similar thing with their poker buddies who have not quite got a handle on the nuances of wagering position. Guide them to grow their respect for the casino game. Certainly, don’t attempt to try this one in your local gambling den, the sharks will not take pleasure in you instructing their supper how to swim!
