Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five in which he liked taking part in numerous card games when he was young. He discovered himself becoming very aggressive in these card games as he was playing his father. After graduating from high school, Howard decided to put higher education on hold for a little bit and headed to New York to participate in some formidable chess. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the best female players the poker world ever. He relocated to Sin City in 1993 and competed in money games for the subsequent 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, he decided to participate in more tournaments.
